How the cut is chosen

Each part is packed as full as it can be without going over the limit. A paragraph break is preferred first, then a sentence break, then a word gap; a single word is never cut in half. A paragraph or sentence too long to fit any part on its own is broken down one level finer rather than left oversized. The one exception is a single word, most often a very long link, that still does not fit alone: it stands as its own part rather than being cut, and is flagged as over the limit.

The counting rule of each network applies to every part, the same rule its character counter page uses. On a network that rewrites links to a fixed width, a part carrying a link is measured at that fixed width, not the real length of the link.

Which account these numbers describe

The conservative case: a newly connected account with no raised eligibility. Some platforms lift a ceiling once a channel or a business is verified, and where that happens the page says so.
